Future Fantasy Story Ideas

I have some future Fantasy story ideas, which I plan on writing, and decided to share them with you. Think of this as sneak peaks on what’s to come. I even have the covers designed.

A month ago while I was experiencing writers block with book 3 of the Wendael Series, I brainstormed on future book idea’s.

I could share the brief story line of each, but instead, I’ll share an ‘elevator’ pitch. Guess which one belongs to which cover?

  1. A girl grows up in a lab is experimented on her whole life, escapes with the help of a caretaker.
  2. The story of one Fairy who saves the Fae with the help of an unlikely ally: A Pixie
  3. The Princess whose entire family is vanquished by their sworn enemy seeks vengeance.
  4. A Shifter whose been abandoned by her parents, survives by steeling and living on the streets, until one day she’s given a chance at a normal life by a mysterious old man.
  5. A slacker novelist living with his grandfather, finds a magical object which brings a few of the leading characters from his novels to life, uprooting his daily routine.
  6. The Girl of Prophesy dies during a mission and receives a new directive from the Goddess. This mission, which must be kept secret if it’s to succeed, has life changing consequences, and some not for the better. Or so she thinks.

Some of the covers may be tweaked by the time I publish them, but you have a basic idea of what’s to come.

If you’ve read any of my novels, please leave a review on Amazon. I appreciate your support, and would love to read your comments below

Wendael Series book 3: Of Beasts and Raven status

Hi everyone!  I had a good weekend writing book 3 of the Wendael Series: Of Beasts and Raven. I wrote almost 2 full chapters, and getting closer to being half way through the first draft.

I felt exhilarated to get past my writers stump. Once I found my flow, I couldn’t stop writing. I know I wrote that I hoped to finish and publish by the end of September, and if I keep up this awesome momentum, I just might reach it! Ahem, I am writing, really. I even wrote 175 words before heading out to the office.

I’m at a turning point for our main character: Raina. Like every hero, she’s reached a point where things are heading downhill and there’s no turning back. Things look very dim for her. Don’t worry, she’s still growing and discovering who she wants to be. She’s discovering her voice and learning to stand up for herself, by herself. Oops… a little spoiler there.

Unlike my other two novels in the series, this one is mostly her and I’ve included some back story points from books 1 and 2.

How long does it take for you to write a book?

How long does it take for you to write a book?

Now that the end of my vacation is up, I finally managed to gain a clear and rested mind to write. I’m happy to say I finished the first third (1/3) of my next novel: Of Beasts and Raven which is book 3 of the Wendael Series. YAY! My initial word count will be 90,000 words since once I polish it up in the final draft, I may lose 2000 words or gain a few. I never know until it’s finished.

This novel will have mainly one scene per chapter, (not the normal 2-3 I normally do) which means more chapters overall, 36 to be exact. I’ve been doing research and learning ways to hone my writing.

Having doubts as to my timeline, I did some research and find I’m at the normal pace for other indie authors. Upon reading how long it takes them to write,  I was pleased to know I’m in league with most of them. Whew! Like most indie authors, I hold a day job, which takes up most of my time. When I get home from work, I’m mentally and physically tired.

Draft 1 of any novel will be need work, and as thoughtful as you are, there are always rewrites. Normally I can’t write fast enough, but this novel is particularly tricky for me. My characters have been silent lately. Maybe I angered them? Raina did pay me a visit to scold me on not writing. Check out her visit here. With that said, being of a creative mind doesn’t work when I’m tired. Today felt like a win. A goal has been set and met, although it’s a few months late. I went a cumulative month without writing so I’m behind. Bleck. That’s okay though, because I’m catching up. This one is more difficult because I’m wrapping up a series, while allowing for the potential of future stand alone novels.

I have also started writing the set up portions of my next novel: Jules Walker – Zodiac Hunter. I’m at the basic dreamscape now. The setting is New York City, mainly Broadway because I love that there are a lot of people my characters to lose themselves in.  I’m considering writing this in a third person point of view. It will distance the reader from the characters, but overall the story I have planned will work better in this POV. I’ll write up more of this book  in a separate blog article so keep an eye out for it.

Anyway, my year began when I told my self to write and publish Of Beasts and Raven by the end of July. Ummm….that’s not going to happen. My last novel took me 9 1/2 months from dreamscape to publication so I thought I could do it. Maybe my next novel? I have hopes.

For me, it more about the quality of my work. I want to make sure my readers have a positive experience in the end.

Check this Goodreads discussion from other Indie Authors for details on how long it takes to start and complete a novel.

Eternal Love of Vampires

It is a night of dark desire, a song of subtlety, wolves vent their loneliness.

The ethereal one wakens.

Mist shrouds her pale form, an everlasting dread.

Her silken hair cascades over fragile milk-white shoulders, and her full crimson lips part slightly, to taste the life streaming from the pale flesh beneath her.

Now a night of shared vitality,

I hunger.
